Destin, Florida. Sunrise at the beach (bottom), beautiful! Weather got colder as the day went on, and we were in winter coats by dinner time! There were surfers & a kayaker on the water though (in wetsuits)! (top photo on right) We walked the beach, went to the Bass Pro Shop, and were shown the dunes and the harbour by our friends, very enjoyable day!

Destin, Florida. Temperature about 60 degrees F today. Cooler tonight, very windy and heavy rain. We walked Miramar Beach this morning, then shopped for groceries, had lunch, and went to Walmart to get the replacement light for the van. Paul put the new light in, then Grace and Earl came over for a great dinner of steak and mushrooms and fried onions, potatoes and salad. Great company, good times! Kit Kats are enjoying the Florida life!

Destin, Florida! We have rented a condo at "Maravilla" a mile down the road from our friend's place, very nice place, just across the road from the ocean. Good to have roots for a couple of days! They made us a fabulous home cooked dinner, very much appreciated after several days on the road. Just before dinner we watched the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico, it was beautiful! Tomorrow, RV needs a new headlight!

La Grange, Georgia. Red Roof Inn. Temperature is about 40 degrees F. now, was about 50 today, so it's time to ditch the winter boots. We have decided to detour off of I75 and are headed to Destin, Florida on the panhandle to visit with our friends Grace & Earl. From there, we will head back over to I75 and on down to the Orlando area. Kit kats were great today, they each have their favorite spots in the RV. Bandit got tired reading the maps and had to nap on them! We especially enjoyed the rolling hills of Kentucky & Tennessee! Rush hour around Atlanta, Georgia was like driving in TO rush hour!

London, Kentucky (who knew?!) Red Roof Inn. I now have truck butt burned into my retinas from following trucks all day! Although we started out with good intentions, somehow, George, we can't cover the same amount of ground as you! We are after all newbies, and I be slow! Also, very high winds make the going slow. Supper tonight will be warmed up gf mac & cheese from the RV freezer and salad, yum yum. Fridge was on propane last night and crapped out, so we thought we were out of propane, but the Flying J guy said we only needed 2 gallons of propane, so that's not it. It's working now, so cross your fingers. No kitty barf today, only blobby kitty poops where they should not be, which shorted my lunch (I lost my appetite, LOL). Tomorrow's another day!

Well, we were off to a late start today, but eventually got going. Despite the cat barf, we made it to Toledo Ohio, and are snug in a Quality Inn, just relaxin'. I took Geo's great advice and prepared a "heat-up leftover dinner" from last night. I just started up the generator, put the food in the microwave, and when it was done, took it along with paper plates to the room where we enjoyed our salmon & rice! Thanks Geo! And thankfully the customs guy cared not at all about the kit kats or their food, so it did not get confiscated! Looking forward to a fresh start tomorrow.

One more sleep and in the words of the immortal Jackie Gleason, "Awaaaaayyy we go!"
