Kissimmee, Florida. Temperature today was about 65 - 70 F, nice and sunny but breezy. We picked up Rob and Emily at the airport, they are understandably very tired as they had to be at the airport so early to catch their flight. We lunched, then it was siesta time for the weary travellers (and Paul & I too, and the kit kats!). Dinner was BBQ pork chops, baked potato and salad, yum yum! We are all tired, so relaxing on the couch, getting caught up, just enjoying ourselves as we plan for the upcoming days. Kit kats are settling in nicely to their new digs. Photos are: family room, Rob & Emily in pool, pool, living room, front of house, kitchen.

Kissimmee, Florida. Temperature when we got up this morning at Ft. Wilderness Campground was about 65 F outside, 70 F inside the teeny tiny motorhome. We packed up and left about 11:15, and made our way over to Kissimmee to the office of the house rental company. We got the keys, ate lunch, then shopped a bit at a health food store, then went to Camping World to arrange RV service to be done next week. We arrived at the house in a community called Oak Island Cove, on a street called Formosa. It is really nice, bigger and better than I expected. It has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, family room, dining room, fully outfitted kitchen, 2 car garage, screened-in heated pool, laundry room, in a residential subdivision about 2 miles from Disney's Animal Kingdom. I went to Publix to pick up a few groceries, then we relaxed after dinner in the living room watching Ghost Whisperer. Kit kats are delirious to be able to run all over the place! Rob and Emily arrive tomorrow.

Fort Wilderness, Walt Disney World, Florida. Temperature was in the mid to high 70's today, very very nice. We left the RV around 10:30 and returned at 5:30 - we used the free Disney transportation system to go to see Don's Walk Around the World stone just outside the Magic Kingdom, then went to Downtown Disney to shop and sightsee. We had lunch at the Earl of Sandwich, it was great. Took a trip, as mom would say, down memory lane. Some of it was tough but hopefully cathartic (Chris, you will relate. And thanks Chris for the great directions to the stone). Kit kats were excellent. Just updating the blog before we walk over to the beach to see the fireworks over the lake. Sadly, we leave Ft. Wilderness tomorrow morning. We will go to Kissimmee where we have arranged to rent a house till Feb. 14. Rob and Emily will join us Saturday. We have not gone into the parks yet, we are waiting for Rob & Emily (so hurry up and get here!) Pictures are: Paul having lunch at the Earl of Sandwich, Lego Serpent, Don's stone, Lou at Don's stone, Paul at entrance to Downtown Disney.

Ft. Wilderness, Walt Disney World, Florida. Temperature was 60 F today, very nice when the sun came out in the late morning. We walked to the marina this morning, and were considering a guided fishing trip, but decided against it (very expensive). We lunched at the RV, and played with the cats outside - Abby was walking on her leash with me. This afternoon we took the ferry to the Contemporary Resort, looked around, then caught the monorail to tour around. We then caught the ferry again, went to Wilderness Lodge, looked around, then took the ferry back to camp. After dinner at the RV we took the campgound bus to the Chip 'n Dale Campfire & sing-along. We left after a bit, and came back to camp. We have an armadillo who makes his home at the base of the tree - he entertains the cats! Transportation is all free throughout all of Disney since we are staying at one of the resorts. We have not yet gone into any of the parks. Tonight I saw some of the fireworks while sitting in the RV, working on the blog! Photos are: Minnie Mouse golf cart belonging to one of the campers, Wilderness Lodge, Cinderella's Castle and Contemporary Resort seen from Ft. Wilderness, cats outside with Paul.

Walt Disney World, Florida! Who's the leader of the club that's made for you and me, M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E!!!!! WE MADE IT! Who said we couldn't, huh?! Nearly 9 p.m. and we are 75 F inside our teeny tiny motorhome, and 64 F outside! Hallelujah!! Warm weather! We are camping at Disney's Fort Wilderness till Friday. Today we finally got the tiny little BBQ we wanted and the tiny little TV with DVD player that we wanted for the teeny tiny motorhome. Tons of fun! And just finished chatting with Geo on MSN! Too much fun! We can hear ferry horns (we can take the ferry to the mouse house if we want) and fireworks! Wooo hooo!

Whoo hooo! 71 degrees F this morning in Gainesville! (rainy, but WARM!)

Gainesville, Florida. Today we travelled from Destin to Gainesville via the coast, what a lovely drive! We went through Parker, Florida! (who knew?!) The day started off with some excitement - little Bandit decided to ESCAPE the condo, just as we were preparing to leave! Bad little boy! Scared himself silly! He was in the cat (dog) house the rest of the day! We stopped in Port St. Joe and had a picnic lunch in the RV, it was quite nice. Gainesville is quite a bit warmer, it is about 65F now I think. We leave tomorrow and make our way to Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground where hopefully it will be nice and warm! The photos are: . house on stilts, RV lunch at Ft. St. Joe and driving along the coast

Destin, Florida. Very cold today, brass monkey weather! 35 F when we got up! We went to Walmart to get another headlight for the van, and a few groceries. We stopped on the way back at Henderson State Park, a campground, just a couple of miles from where we are staying. It looks great, it would be fun to stay there in warmer weather. We also checked out Cracker Barrel (restaurant/store), had siesta, walked the beach and took sunset photos, then had dinner with our friends. All in all a great day. Sadly, we leave here tomorrow. The good news though is that we are heading to warmer weather!
